Nut and Seed Milk

Nut and seed milks are becoming much more popular to buy these days. Pretty much all health food stores will stock a variety of nut/seed/hemp/soya/grain milks. One of the best things about plant-based milks is that they are super easy to make. All you need is a high speed blender and a sieve or 'nut bag'. The second best thing is that they taste amazing. you can drink them straight as they are, mix them, or even add other flavourings to your hearts desires. They are such a great way to get a lot of good nutrients inside of you. Also children love them because you can make them taste like milkshakes. Plant milks are also quite filling but not as thick as say a smoothie, so its a nice alternative.

A step further would be to blend berries or dried fruits into plain nut milks. Try blending with Dates, Apricots, Currants, Raisins or Figs. Experiment and see what you can create.

NOTE: I wouldn't recommend to drink this recipe on a juice fast or juice feast, as in my experience it tends to make you feel a heavy and nauseous.

To make a plant-based milk, all you need to do is soak, then blend your favourite nuts or seeds, then sieve them through a nut bag

Also, after straining mix, you can add flavours such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom or star anise to make some unique tastes
